Happy Fat Tuesday – otherwise known as Mardi Gras! Time to celebrate with one of Chef Brian’s inspired-by-New Orleans recipes. This one is for his Creole Spice, which he uses in making Brian’s Shrimp and Goat Cheese Grits With Roasted Red Peppers. It’s a great, taste bud-tingling blend that’s great to have on hand and pull out when your heart says “I need some gumbo.”
Tupelo Honey Cafe Creole Spice
1 tablespoon sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons sea salt
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon white pepper
Mix all the ingredients together and store in an air-tight container. Then, laissez les bon temps rouler!
